悲惨な部分がよく語られますが、本作はファミリーで戦う内容であり勇者シリーズの元祖にもなっています。リアルロボット、勇者ロボットの双方の元祖になっている作品。それまでサンライズが作ってたクムクム、ビートンとかのファミリー作品の新たな形が本作なんだと思います。

Ideon: Be Invoked is my favorite Tomino work, building on ideas from Gundam and Zambot 3's conclusions to make a perfect finale. While the title robot isn't my favorite design, I have a lot of affection for its Guncannon DX look.
