"One-winged ghost fairy"
Sprites of a sprite done for a challenge
64x64, 32x32, 16x16
Uploading these now so that I'll be able to see mistakes I should have fixed, since that's how this always works
You can work up to what looks like an entire new asset by editing, or create a new one from scratch. The point is, the time put into what should be a simple edit, should be short. It shouldn't be more time-consuming overall than making new stuff from scratch
You can draw half a floor and mirror it. You can copypaste a row of mountains or forestry. You can make a graphic that's meant to be repeated (a wall, tiles, banisters) and add edits after the fact. When the art is done and you have spare time afterward, then maybe you can redraw
Copypasting or reusing your assets isn't a bad thing. You made them. You can use them as a point of reference, to set a template for the atmosphere of a new setting or project, or to save time that can spent on more important setpieces
I don't dislike these sprites but I do want to highlight these two because they still absolutely hold up in terms of energy and appealing cartoon proportions, especially for sprites that were hand-pixelled rather than starting as drawings
Calling it done before I tear hair on the backdrop of this little collage. Sprited a bunch of @theycallhimcake 's characters, excepting his recent vaporwave ones that I found out about after the fact
