#FolkloreThursday Cedars are sacred trees, both in Slavic and Native American (Ojibwe) #folklore. They're planted around cemeteries to create a barrier that keeps the ghosts of the dead contained within. They will also stop malicious spirits and strangers coming into your house.

I'm doing some research (who's surprised) and I've just found these ridiculous babies. Just look at them.
They're called Phymateus morbillosus these days, or Common Milkweed Locust. Natives of South Africa, and one of the best dressed bugs I've seen.
