"When the cat reached the house it domesticated itself at once, and became immediately a great favorite with my wife..." 🐾🖤 Edgar Allan Poe's "The Black Cat"
Here's the very messy 2019 sketch and the 2013 painting! I drew over the 2013 piece with a light table, and then reworked the features I needed to fix (gave her a late 1850's dress and era-appropriate hairstyle, updated the goblin design, drew a background, etc)
An Unlikely Guest 🌹
The next piece(s) in my "Beauty and the Beast" series for @MonthofLove
I’m super late with this year’s @MonthofLove but this week’s prompt is “Beauty”, so here’s Beauty and her Beast (and a goblin!) They’re a happy little family 🖤
I spent much of 2018 illustrating @Sashagraham's #DarkWoodTarot, so here are a few of my favorite cards from the Minor Arcana 🖤
This deck will be available in June 2020 from @LlewellynBooks!
My last personal piece of the year 🌹 The step-by-step process of this illustration and the rest of my storytelling techniques workshop are in the February issue of @imaginefx! Grab your copy here: https://t.co/LKw5lYLf93
I totally forgot about this! She was an "I need to force myself to draw something because I've been on the couch with the flu for two weeks" warmup I made a while back! I still like it 🥀✨
Happy #FolkloreThursday! I wanted to share one of the traditions from here in Italy: La Befana! 🌙 She arrives on January 5th, and leaves candy in the stockings of good children. In many city centers, large wicker Befana puppets are set on fire to symbolize the end of the year.
