Today I'm taking a few moments to appreciate the ambiance of medieval-style wintry castles suffused in ice and snow during the dark season; the cool factor just can't be matched.

I've written 5000 words of my next story, romantically chronicling the return of colonists from Proxima Centauri at the turn of the 22nd century.

This would *never* have happened pre-lockdown. Two years after its alleged end, it's clear that lockdown has permanently ruined my entire life, down to its most trivial aspects. Nothing will ever be allowed to even be like it was again, let alone get better.

Alfons Mucha's "Autumn" is a great piece to gaze at for a bit on this first day of the first month of the fall season. In that vivid autumnscape that darling looks like she's exactly where she wants to be.
