#watched GAPPA THE TRIPHIBIAN MONSTERS (1967).

For their only foray into #kaiju cinema, Nikkatsu combined the plots of KING KONG VS. GODZILLA and GORGO to produce this decent but conventional #monster flick.

Not bad, but it lacks the loopy charm of Godzilla and Gamera films.

A mad professor plans to create a race of human-plant hybrids. Naturally, he allies himself with a disfigured freak show owner so the movie can be 10x trashier.

#watched MURDERS IN THE RUE MORGUE (1932).

A pre-code #horrormovie that eludes me no more! It's not on the level of the major 1930s classics, but the film is well paced and more explicit than I expected. I should know by now with pre-code films.

Starring Bela Lugosi.

CLAUDINE AUGER (1941-2019).

Best known as the "Bond Girl" in THUNDERBALL, horror/giallo fans will remember Auger for her performances in the popular gialli BAY OF BLOOD and BLACK BELLY OF THE TARANTULA.
