General Allard was hired by Ranjit Singh in 1822 and put in charge of four Sikh regiments. He married a beautiful woman from Kashmir and built a splendid mansion near Lahore.

Bhaskar has replaced the water-pot with the jhuli containing japer mala which does make more sense for a Vaishnav devotee. I will ask him!
