4. Do visual novels count? Especially ones that get a lot of flack? bc DRAMAtical Murder is both. Despite being a yaoi game, I found it to have humor, fascinating characters & a story that integrates Buddhist concepts. I personally love the bright 80s aesthetic and unique music.

3. Breath of Fire Dragon Quarter! It has a unique gameplay system that punishes the use of your dragon powers but rewards you for game overs by letting you to carry over exp & items, unlock hidden scenes that expand upon the story, with new areas unlocking on each playthrough

honestly, I bet aside from not liking that Alisha is a badass normal temp-only party member, her stans couldn't handle the fact that Rose IS something special, just like Sorey. that it's her ability to balance him out while supporting him that lets her become a Squire & Shepherd.
