I'm just throwing this out there: neither of my main artists are Black. Both of my stories feature heavily melanated casts and they are (usually) not drawn by Black people.And yet LOOK AT THEM. Almost like you don't have to be Black to draw Black folks good. 🤔

For real, tho, I love making OCs who feel alive. Ppl who ooze with personality. All of the cool fight scenes in the world can't save a dull character

Also my choice to make her more of a ranged mage-y type was one of the best decisions I've made. When she joins the team it's mostly melee weapons & martial arts with a hint of range & she's the exact opposite.

Mickayla has been told to live quietly if she wants to honor God. This never sat right with her, and now she knows why.

As Chant, she fights to increase the peace on Union's streets. If she can bring hope to even one person, she's walking in her purpose.
