I usually prefer healthy and wholesome couples, but lately I have been obsessing over these two. An unhealthy amount.
So I wanted to ask: which are your favourite toxic ships? They don't have to be canon.
I have been rereading Shrink ~Psychiatrist Yowai~ and I would like to encourage you all to read. It is an educational manga that raises awareness of different mental illness in a very respectful manner.
The author even consulted professionals to be as accuretaly as possible.
40. CLAMP works
Although this might be cheating, CLAMP are my favourite mangaka, so I wanted to recommend other works from them:
- Tokyo Babylon/X
- Clover
- RG Veda
- xxxHolic/Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles
39. Children of the Whales - Umeda Abi (76 ~)
I first heard of this story when the anime started airing and immediately fell in love with it. It advocates for the importance of emotions, how they are the key to have a fulfilling life even if they entail pain as well.
38. Otoyomegatari - Mori Kaoru (101 ch~)
Otoyomegatari focuses on couples from Central Asia in the mid-19th century, which implies a culture shock between the reader and their traditions, but Mori-sensei portrays it so elegantly that you can't help but get enraptured by it.
36. My Righteous Older Brother - Morie Satoshi (17 ch)
Since I only posted healthy romance until now, this is a mystery series that focuses in the odd relationship between a girl that awaits for her brother to come back home and a guy that suffers from sleep deprivation.
34. Kasane - Matsuura Daruma (126 ch)
A dishearting story about a girl that had her life and psyche crushed under the pressure of social acceptance, imposed standards of beauty and her own prejudices towards herself.
32. Furare Girl - Tsutsumi Kakeru (33 ch~)
A bit bawdier than usual yet still somehow pure, Furare Girl is a daring and refreshing high school romance.
31. They Were Eleven! (and sequel) - Hagio Moto (7 ch)
A reminder that I have to continue reading old shojo.
While knowing how to create the perfect atmosphere to be tense, it was also a really fun ride.
A great sci-fi that doesn't feel outdated at all even after 46 years.
30. Katekyo Hitman REBORN! - Amano Akira (409 ch)
KHR was another of my first animanga. I even watched it on youtube.
I don't really know how it will hold now, but I have nothing but fond memories of it.
Amano is also the character designer for Psycho-Pass. Forever grateful❤️
