The figure of Eophe was a primal form of the Windfolk - a representation of pure hunger that fed on the body of Ophoi in such a way, it lost its head - reason why their offspring, forever bound to their masks, should remember their Obligations to the land.

When a player fulfills an Obligation in Zephyr, their character may unravel the thread around the fetish in order to weave a Pattern. Patterns are "woven" (drawn) on your character sheet, providing strange powers fueled by the bonds they're connected to.

In the #ZephyrRPG, characters need to hunt, gather, and cook in order to replenish the color tokens that make for the Constitution. This way, they secure energy for their journey, as well for evoking the sentimental bonds that will make for who they are.

...that correspond to the land above each lung, as well as the Grand Valley at the geographic center of it all. Windfolk tend to live in the outermost regions of the Plaques, while the Salt States - ever dependent on flatlands for agriculture - populate the Grand Valley.

Ophoi is, according to the Windfolk, divided into several regions that are mainly separated by the huge rifts that open on the creature's joints. While some of these regions are largely unknown, the most expansive ones are the Plaques of Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black...

The eyeless Earthenfolk are known for their Bowing Citadel, a city built sideways on a mountain's face. The city only becomes inhabitable during the Bowing Season, when Ophoi's lungs push the mountains inwards--allowing them to party there for a few weeks.

Windfolk have Obligations not just to one another, but also to the other person's of the world — rivers, mountains, other creatures — with whom they hold long histories of reciprocity (as well as a fair share of drama!)
