Speaking of which, here's a comparison that might be interesting: Eva 13 and Mark.09. I've been going on for a while about their mysterious connection and, while not absolutely perfectly conclusive or anything, it's something to stash away in the back of your head for later.

We have awakened Eva-01, and awakened Eva-01 contained inside the Wunder's engine. There's a distinct difference in scale and proportion, Wunder's halo has more of a rainbowy shimmer, and the absorption of Lilith's soul seems to add another halo by default,

And it gets better/weirder... The characteristics of an individual halo (morphology, coloration, etc.) reveal something about the being that possesses it. So... what are they trying to imply about Eva-05 here?

Also impossible to ignore, but easy to ignore the real ramifactions, is that Eva-05 is one of the only Evas to release an energy cross when it dies. The "pseudo-Angel" Mark.04s do, of course, but aside from them? I can only recall Eva-04 offhand.

The platform that Misato and Ritsuko are standing on (left) -- remind you of anything? It has a key-like pattern on it! The tip of the key also has tracks that link to the many stalls with clusters of 3 containers inside them. ＃エヴァンゲリオン
