Started this year of art by getting unreasonably inspired by another new #DnD character I might never actually play. Let me introduce you to Riann de Reland, story-telling #bard. They travel the world to gather myths, and use music & thaumaturgy to enhance the stories they tell.

My attempt at #mermay2020 really only lasted like six days before I entirely gave up. But it was fun while it lasted, and I did at least get four pretty neat little paintings out of it. I don't think I'll get back into it this month, so I might as well post them now.

Last session, the Torches took the opportunity to do some shopping for their upcoming hot-climate travels, including new clothes that have been enchanted to work as armour. Therefore, a WIP of Ness' shiny new outfit:

A mini sword, based on her D&D character's heirloom, made with one of my Los Angeles nails so that it, like the character, crossed an ocean to get where they are. To fit the Angel theme of my LA swords but also reflect the fire & curse of the in-game weapon, its name is Lucifer.

Terrin's first impressive achievement of the campaign was slaying an ettin, earning the title Terrin Giant's Bane by the party. Their final feat of this chapter was bringing their Goliath friend back to life, which deserves another kind of title.

I've had a very lovely day today. I got to hang out at a coffee shop with two dear friends, to ~study~ but none of us were particularly set on actually getting work done. Instead we talked about D&D for hours and I continued painting on this.

In celebration of the new His Dark Materials trailer I took a break from my thesis writing and speed-painted some D&Dæ - Ness and her smooth newt dæmon, tentatively named Herendil.

There has been some Developments with Red the orb. Pictured is Red in her cleansed, Awakened form, freed of the magma shell <3 And also Red in the rope net Terrin commissioned for her (bc Terrin is practical & wants to be able to carry this Ancient Magical Artifact more easily).

I'm playing Terrin in D&D tonight again, so here is a #WIP of their entire inventory, one with their dragonmark visible and one where it's covered. Also, a slightly redder version of Red the orb.
