These three #watercolour paintings went off to the same home last week.
I’m currently working on some new works and planning some #pleinair locations.

When #sketching I look at everything in terms of simple shapes;
No matter what the subject is, it’s all just a series of easy shapes combined, along with an understanding or perspective.

‘Water lilies and fish’
Last nights quick acrylic painting.
Water is one of my favourite subject areas, so I had a little fun here exploring light, reflections, depth etc....

‘Silent Valley’ #Mournes #Watercolour
Completed last night - quite a large, full sheet watercolour painting depicting this tranquil, glacial valley, carved out during the last ice age.
#mournemountains
Photographed in the natural light makes all the difference.

Some phone shots of my first ever painting of the #AuroraBorealis
I set myself the challenge last night of painting this within an hour, just for experimental purposes. I want to become better at capturing such scenes on canvas. The first of many, I’m sure.

Very proud of my latest portrait commission, featuring locals, Alice and Dessie Kelly. Alice is a renowned writer, poet and storyteller. They have been married almost 60 years, and now live in the same care home together due to dementia. Alice released her third book last year.
