In 1794, Girtin began exhibiting at the Royal Academy. He played a key role in establishing watercolour as a reputable medium of art.

November 3, 1560: Italian Baroque painter Annibale Carracci is born in Bologna.
Annibale wasn't the only talented member of the Carracci family. His brother Agostino and cousin Lodovico were accomplished painters as well.

The artist didn't see great success in his lifetime, but by the 20th century, he was regarded as one of THE most important Dutch landscape painters.

Harris was a member of the famous Group of Seven. He was also the founding member and first president of the Canadian Group of Painters.
