How about a little comparison, hm? Giraffatitan brancai, first version done in 2014, compared to working on it right now to implement in my Tendaguru project. I've come a bit of a way.
That would be a good last thing to see, in my opinion.
Alright I'll stop for tonight. Need to go to bed anyway (but I don't want to).
Already too much Allosaurus, says you?
Never, says I!
However, I am going to bed.
I am already by far more satisfied with her look. Long way to go still but getting there.
I have just more or less finished the first full walk cycle animation, but it's too late to render (almost 4AM). This is far too much fun, now that I almost know what I'm doing.
I managed to salvage the polypaint colours from Zbrush, auto-weight-painted in Blender and am surprised by how well that actually worked. Will do it properly later on and will also, at some point, have to re-do the shoulder spike and attach it to the hip instead... (1/2)
As you can tell I will become a very professional rigger and animator.
Found this lovely lady again. A lot I need to update but the overall model is a very nice base to go from once I get to it. I still like the way I did the keratin covered parts above the eyes.
Second try with this guy's retopology. TopoGun essentially ate the last version (not saving it despite having a save location and not giving me an error message), causing me to be highly frustrated about it last Monday when I figured it out. Now praying to the retopology gods.
