I'll be truly sad to see #StarTrekDiscovery go. It relaunched Trek, brought a refreshing Abrams-style energy to Trek TV, along with a group of charismatic, committed actors. It held true to Roddenberry's vision of strength in diversity. And it flew us to the 32nd Century.
Lovely preliminary box art for "Echoes from the Past" (1994), the Sega Genesis TNG game, by Mick McGinty.
Glorious 1976 posters by artist John Carlance - inc a depiction of the spaceborne 'Starfleet Headquarters' from the Franz Joseph Technical Manual.
The Protostar in all its glory - from initial sketches by Gia Nguyen and Ben Hibon to Nuen Design's work on '3D block outs', line art block out, then handed to the texturing team for the final look. A gorgeous ship!
(Updated version!)
DS9 concept by Sonia Hillios, Maquis ship design serving as an inspiration for the Defiant by Jim Martin, Orb by Ricardo Delgado and Defiant transporter room concept again by Martin.
A thread of Star Trek icons - the ships (and station!) that have been our homes, guardians and vehicles of escapism for over a half a century now! What year did you join the Trek ranks?
1966 (or '64!): a painting of the original NCC-1701 by its designer, Matt Jefferies.
TNG got me through my college years - it feels like it's 1987 again! UK air date is not until the 16th I believe, so I'm trying to avoid spoiling myself... #StarTrekPicard
