Now that everything is back in business, Crankshaft Rafflesian updates will ideally resume next week. For now here's a preview of things to come.
@kianamaiart I'm Comorant, He/Him and Pan. I'm a artist(?) who does somewhat dreamlike and surreal work for fun.
@queerwebcomic I'm Comorant, I'm a queer artist and part of the @homebrewdeviant team. My comics and are are typically on queer characters and monsters with influence visually from my experiences with psychosis and bipolar episodes.
Also read my current comic!

Also since it's X-Men Day can we get Gambit in more stuff please?
Back to themes though, I just wanted something that's grounded in tone despite being visually weird and filled with robots and a weird rabbit person. Which is why I open it up with the framing of a oversaturated nightmare and the realization of oversleeping from depression.
A few little details that I try to push for are no baby blue skies for the dreamlike effect as seen above, but also characters having imperfect teeth and passage of time displayed via hair getting messier through the day.
(Part 4) Sometimes it leads to some wild stuff. I've been pushing toward more dynamic stuff even if it's really a goofy slice of life story tbh. Thoughts race for me all the tine and I want a bit to carry over.
(Part 3) Colors don't ever quite process right for ne. Patterns squirm, light floats, and lines and hues just generate from nothing. I deal with a lot of visual noise irl so I try to streamline that via colors and use of high saturation hoping maybe someone will get what I mean.
I may as well turn this into a thread and provide sone insight into it so (Part 1) now. A lot of Crankshaft both good and bad days isvisually is intentionally tied to mental state. Which is why it visually shifts a ton and why consistency falls apart in slower parts.
Commissions open! Will draw robots! 15 USD for a colored full body piece, anything else for offers. Contact for more info. (No hard NSFW)
