The difference in shot quality of shot composition between both Aladdin films is so hilariously jarring. The new film is shot so flat and safe despite having all the money in the world thrown at it.

Back to themes though, I just wanted something that's grounded in tone despite being visually weird and filled with robots and a weird rabbit person. Which is why I open it up with the framing of a oversaturated nightmare and the realization of oversleeping from depression.

A few little details that I try to push for are no baby blue skies for the dreamlike effect as seen above, but also characters having imperfect teeth and passage of time displayed via hair getting messier through the day.
