A couple of my on-the-spot Cambridge paintings from >20 yrs ago. I used to sketch regularly on the street but prefer more secluded outdoor locations now I'm getting on a bit! I'll welcome venue suggestions when lockdown lifts and restrictions subside (and better weather arrives)
Some of my Cambridge views from over the years, starting with one of the market which has been completely shut down because of covid. Not a good decision. The food stalls should be kept open as in the first lockdown. I shopped there every week - no problem.
Misty pastel sketch of Portugal Place, Cambridge from about 20yrs ago, looking towards St John's College chapel in the distance. Scanned from an old photo print (original sold)
Portrait in pastel on Fabriano Ingres paper, 1990
Pastel from 1998 showing the avenue of trees (plane trees I think) on Jesus Green, Cambridge
Portrait in prismalo pencils, from the '70s I think. I can't remember her name but it's a sketch from when I was doing a portrait of her mother.
The Cat and the Fiddle, pastel from 1998. Still have the violin but the shy little tabby no longer of course. Very sweet, she lived with us happily until old age, when she obligingly passed away quietly in her basket.
Two string quartet oil paintings from 1999 (both sold).
