Lao-Shan Lung has a close relative called Zorah Magdaros. This titanic elder dragon is considered to be the largest known monster to the Guild.

If left unchecked, Lao-Shan Lung can easily destroy any fortresses that stand in its way. Rarely, Lao-Shan Lung will invade a fortress for unknown reasons. It has few creatures to worry about, but it has been reported that it seems to fear some kind of powerful monster.

An Ashen Lao-Shan Lung is a Lao-Shan Lung that has primarily been living in volcanic environments. Due to large amounts of volcanic ash adhering to its skin, it has an ash-colored shell on its body. There have even been reports of green individuals in some regions.

Lao-Shan Lung's hide is a reddish brown due to high amounts of iron on its shell, giving Lao-Shan Lung its body color. Depending on the environment, a Lao-Shan Lung’s look can vary from place to place.

When that material adheres to its skin, Lao-Shan Lung's heated body will gradually melt the minerals, eventually forming its rock-like shell.

Lao-Shan Lung is a mountain-sized elder dragon that was mistaken to be some kind of giant wyvern. Despite looking similar to a flying wyvern (飛竜), it evolved from a completely different group of monsters known as "dragons" (龍).

Although Goldbeard Ceadeus's relationship to the standard Ceadeus is unknown, and despite it being considered a subspecies, it's likely the same species as Ceadeus. Goldbeard Ceadeus is most likely just a very old Ceadeus whose body color has changed over the years.

Inside of Ceadeus's body is luminous organs that glow for unknown reasons. These organs seem to hold incredible power, and the light they produce causes a luminescent bacteria found on the monster's hide to glow brightly.
