Happy #PortfolioDay !! Hi! I'm Lauren and I run a worldbuilding project called Sky Cowboys where the world has been split by giant chasms, & people use winged horses in their daily lives.
I love designing the breeds of pegasi, and I write short stories!
A white-cheeked longwing pegasus. Not as mean as you'd think it'd be.
A red-eyed broadwing. These pegs are agile and fast, but finnicky. They often demand a skilled pilot to handle them.
In times of extreme scarcity, firehawk broadwings will kick the tops off burning trees, & fly them to a new area to start a second fire in order to make small rodents and insects scatter, allowing them to easily feed. This is a rare behavior, but has given the firehawk it’s name
Delicate white spots dust over an iridescent black coat: a Starling Shortwing. So named for starfield-like colors and patterning on it's coat.
These pegs fulfill every crazy-horse-girl dream I’ve ever had of riding a space pegasus.
A spiked quickfeather broadwing. Known for thick feather manes & lightning quick moves. Their feathers aren't actually spiked, but the thin, dark mane feathers are tipped in a tawny color, resembling sharp quills. Pilots like these pegs for tight aerial maneuvering, or for racing
