Every time I do one of these colorist jams I always try to experiment with it, then feel bad and go back and try a "normal" one. Trying it both ways makes for a good learning exercise. https://t.co/vPeUwaj1xO
Obviously Schiti and Gracia are in top form, but I'm pleased that Caselli and Blee are rising to the occasion too. Can't believe how successfully they've put over "Thanos's Uncle" as a big deal.
Also almost finished reading THE WELL by Choo and Jack Wyatt. Great colors, great cartooning, some life lessons for the kids, tons of goblins and monsters and goats.
The X-Men's government is so corrupt, and the "good guy" characters like Nightcrawler and Shadowcat are so compromised, that the feral teenage sniper from the future is supposed to be the reasonable and conscientious one lol.
"The people just want the illusion of democracy and are happy to be ruled by fascists, nazis, and zealots" is if anything a little *too* real, but Duggan just undercuts it with cutesy in-jokes about his co-workers. Focus Gerry, you're almost doing something here.
@knifeonmars I kind of can't stand Spurrier, I'm mainly here for Gillen and Ewing, and it seemed like Legion of X is maybe important for stuff going on in Judgment Day/X-Men Red. This Gillen Xavier bit really had me like "what paradise???"
This comic came out right after the absolute peak of edgy 90s paramilitary anti-heroes, and somehow Mike Allred of all people does it better than anyone.
