Biblically accurate Azrael is such a good idea but I wish the design was even weirder. It doesn't quite live up to how over-the-top Azrael already is.

This is a different page ran through the exact same filter as the post above without any extra adjustments. Really pleased how closely it matches up with the original. Also solved the problem with the huge filesizes, just needed better compression.

The solution is applying the photoshop halftone filter to a solid 50% gray, and then blend it over the image with "overlay." Fakes the effect well enough without having to split out the color channels.
