Okay full disclosure I thought that these were just Pokemon Global Link artworks pasted over stock images but this is apparently new artwork, it's just near indistinguishable from the official art style. So omocat did, by definition, try
it still looks pretty ugly though

The funniest thing about this to me is that, when pokemon does collabs with other artists, they have absolutely NO qualms about pokemon being drawn in a different style, so this wasn't some "pokemon wants to keep brand consistency" thing, this was just omocat not trying https://t.co/dzob0U2YZo

Like, they put a pretty noticeable effort trying to build this new world and its characters like they did with Splatoon, but for one reason or another it just didn't stick and I think that's really sad
