The vomer is a thin, delicate bone which sits in the midline of the nasal cavity, separating it into two halves.
The #etymology of the vomer is a bit of a journey. The name is adapted from the latin 'vomere', which means quite literally 'to vomit'.

Incidentally, the temporal bone houses your special senses of balance and hearing, and also transmits nerves which control your facial muscles and taste!
The internal portion, known as the petrous temporal, is understood to be the densest piece of bone in the human body.
