Hi #SICB2022/SICB+ folks! Curious about the multi-level convergence of cephalopod photophores? My talk is now online! https://t.co/LPPKlsTMlH
@AMS1931 not sure if drawings count, but if they do I've got oodles of cephs! https://t.co/kLVrHWE9wq
Last one for #SharkWeek2020: the manta ray! According to my casual googling, scientists determined there are TWO species of manta ray in 2008 (feels recent but I guess it was 12 yrs ago): the coastal reef manta ray, M. alfedi, and the giant oceanic manta ray, M. birostris.
Not sure why but I love a good wobbegong. Those fleshy head projections are believed to aid in camoflauge by breaking up the wobbegong's outline as it sits on the sea floor.

We're far enough in to quarantine that I've made a Darwinian demon.
Or maybe it's just a chaos monster, impossible to tell.
@JacquelynGill I'm here for anyone that needs more squid content in their lives. Mostly I post ceph paintings with fun facts but am also starting to share painting timelapses.
