Some time ago I illustrated a comic adaptation of "The Hound" by H.P.Lovecraft for a European comics publisher.
I first read the HPL story when I was 16 & thought, "Wow, I'd love to draw a comic of THAT someday!"
So for me this was a "comic artist dream project" that came true. https://t.co/goGLOywtpi
Been reading this new book “SECRETS of the FORCE”. It’s fine, but an obvious imitation of the much better ”SECRET HISTORY of STAR WARS.”
Nice that it explores the more recent SW films.
But I was bummed by its condescending stance toward Return of the Jedi. …Blasphemy!
These 3, all around the same time.
1. The 1967 Cartoon, in daily reruns when I was a kid in the 70s.
2. Spidey Mego Doll, my favorite toy before Star Wars existed!
3. Spidey on Electric Company kids show.
Later, Dad gave me his old copy of ASM44, that was my first Spidey comic. https://t.co/CDBbaceveP
Over the weekend I finished all work on Wulf & Batsy Issues 1-6 & sent the files to @ALTERNACOMICS
So excited for this new release of my old monster comics! Longtime readers will get a revised & improved 2021 edition & new readers will meet my monsters for the first time!🐺🦇
@scottzirkel XWAY-XWAY by Cevin Key.
My favorite musician since I was 16 yrs old. When it comes to “music to draw comics to”, his music (under his many different band names) has always been my best high-octane imagination fuel. His latest album is terrific.
@TheBasedGeek I loved The Force Awakens and thought Rise of Skywalker was almost as good. I have "sat through" both of them many times, haha.
@petersimeti Batsy, female vampire with a surprisingly optimistic, extroverted personality. Her sweet & friendly demeanor masks deep lonliness & vengeful hate under the surface. Has no memory of herself before becoming a Vampire. But senses a scary, sad, sleazy past she‘d rather not confront.
CREEPSHOW. Saw the movie, found the comic at a book store. Also saw it on HBO w/comic on my lap.
It was 1982, I was 10.
Intro‘d me to Stephen King, George Romero & Tom Savini.
Most important for a kid who liked to draw, this book made Berni Wrightson my big hero. https://t.co/8iwBSwXLJ6
