We almost included Gust on this list, but it might have been a little sneaky. It was effectively the Pidgey line's signature move until Yellow, when Butterfree learned it too (and it was a Normal-type move!).
You always get these way too quickly - yes, as many of you guessed, these were formerly signature moves but have since become more widely accessible!
(In Gen 1, Waterfall couldn't flinch foes and was simply a worse Surf, learned at level 37/39. Poor Seaking...)
