This wolf is one of our resident Mexican gray wolves, Zeke. He was the inspiration for this piece of artwork, titled "Lobo" by local artist @ThornwolfArt, which she has let us use as imagery for several of our events. #Lobo #loboweek

Mexican gray wolves born in breeding facilities can be released into the wild through cross fostering. Pups born in captivity are swapped with a couple of pups from a wild wolf pack. This helps to diversify the genetics in both the captive and wild wolves. #LoboWeek
