Super Robot Wars III (1993, Banpresto) - Super Famicom
Sharp Pixels vs. RGBPi S-Video via Sony KV-27S42
Look at the difference in the barrel of the Beam Cannon!
Tales of Phantasia (1995, Namco) - Super Famicom

Just guys being dudes.
Super Mario RPG (1996, Square) - SNES
Sharp Pixels vs. SNES S-Video via Sony KV-27S42
Our last SMRPG comparison for a while! Couldn't move on without a look at the man himself! I've noticed this SNES model has issues with bleeding colors, even if I like its softer image.
Super Mario RPG (1996, Square) - SNES
Sharp Pixels vs. SNES S-Video via Sony KV-27S42
This set is one of the sharpest consumer CRTs I've seen and it's a very common set!
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (1992, Sega) - Genesis
Raw Pixels vs. Wii Composite via Sanyo DS13320
Sometimes I'm just playing a game for fun and notice something for the first time. Composite blending gives these leaves the Sonic waterfall transparency. Was this intentional?
Fatal Fury 3: Road to the Final Victory (1995, SNK) - NEOGEO
Sharp Pixels vs. RGBPi RGB via Sony PVM-20L2MD
I really like enabling the bilinear filter when playing on my RGBPi. After comparing to a Neo Geo MVS recently I noticed that my PVM was looking a bit too sharp for me.
Popful Mail (1994, Falcom) - Sega CD
MiSTer Raw Pixels vs. MiSTer YPbPr via Insignia TV-040919
I'm really starting to adore how Component looks on a slot mask CRT. This is my brother's set, but I need to find a good one.
Zombies Ate My Neighbors (1993, Lucasarts) - SNES
Sharp Pixels vs. SNES Composite via Sanyo DS-13320
Exciting news about this series this week! I'm not as nostalgic for it as some, but it still has such a great vibe.
U.N. Squadron (1991, Capcom) - SNES
Sharp Pixels vs. SNES S-Video via PVM-20L2MD
I really feel that Capcom and the SNES were just made for each other.
I have decided to refer to all "Emulator" shots going forward as "Sharp Pixels" instead. Emulators are incredible, versatile programs that I love and use literally every day and I want to do my utmost not to downplay the hard work of the amazing people that make them. Thank you.
