I really do like the look of the NieR: Automata anime, but the one downside for me is that they look nothing like Akihiko Yoshida's art.

One of my favourite parts of Maquia was the way in which the team adapted Yoshida's style, so I'm a bit disappointed they haven't tried that.

The Pokemon Company is famously overprotective of the brand, but occasionally they give the keys to the kingdom over to a completely different developer and let them create something weird and fun.
