Casting Jess Harnell as LeChuck is an... interesting choice.
I'm a bit bummed! Jess is a *spectacular* voice-acting vet with a ton of iconic roles under his belt, but I had really hoped whoever succeeded Earl Boen in the role would be able to match his deep and gravely gravitas.
2004: Paper Mario The Thousand-Year Door
The first two Paper Mario games are infused into my very DNA. Sharing fan art for this game online jump-started my desire to draw. I've probably played both over a dozen times. The de-RPG-ification of the series is certainly... saddening.
2009: Mario & Luigi Bowser's Inside Story
50% playable Bowser, a screwball Fawful-fueled plot, and a near-constant barrage of pure strangeness from start to finish. Although there are Mario RPG games I've enjoyed after, they've never *quite* hit the same after this one.
2011: The Binding of Isaac
This game contains so many elements and themes that would normally completely repel me from a game, but something about its style made all its vile monsters and grim plot just palatable enough for me to become addicted to this game for countless hours.
2012: Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright
Such a bizarre cross-over, but its impressive just how well it ultimately managed to mash the elements I enjoyed about each of these series together in roughly equal measure throughout its absolutely bonkers fever dream of a plot.
