Thanks to @pompei79 for sending us this fabulous fresco of Roman scaffolding from the 4th century AD. We are still having so much fun working on the #AmarantusProject! 😊 https://t.co/eZturqBRrg
@SchoolAncient @raylaurence1 @wmarybeard @holland_tom @pompei79 We know of famous gourmands like Montanus (mentioned by Juvenal) but I can't think of any named chefs at the moment. I'm going to #DiningWithTheDidRomans tomorrow eve and will ask #SallyGrainger if I get the chance. 😊 https://t.co/Nvs7ci1KoL
I'm thrilled to reveal the AMAZING COVER of the next book in my #TimeTravelDiaries series: #AdventureInAthens. In this book London schoolboy Alex & friends go back to the #GoldenAge of #Athens to meet #Socrates, #Alcibiades & #KidPlato! Pre-order here: https://t.co/qQ0H8VMFNW 😀
“I put myself in that long line of philosophers who believe Socrates the wisest, most happy, most just man who ever lived. What Mozart is to music, Socrates is to being human.” Scott Samuelson https://t.co/SkDjHPuL6S

@drangiehobbs Oh no! I just read his wonderful essay on whether Socrates was guilty as charged or not* (in which he persuasively argued 'Yes!') At least he lives on in his scholarship.

Year 4 pupils @IqraPrimary are reading #TheThievesOfOstia & I am excited to be visiting today to share some #MysteriesOfAncientRome! Year 3 will be there, too! 😊 https://t.co/1eShPrgvBg #Romans #RomanMysteries #Vesuvius #Pompeii #KS2 #KS3
So happy I can finally write about this😁😁 ancient Greek potty from 5th century Athens! It will feature in my 2nd #TimeTravelDiaries book set in the time of Socrates.
For all the dinner party scenes in our #AmarantusProject, a nice red-figure scene showing a youth (probably a slave) carrying a couch and table to the symposium. This pelike was made in Athens, found in Sicily & now lives in @AshmoleanMuseum. Also some boys drawing wine.
