Throughout IDW Sonic since issue #2, Sonic has been the one pursuing Amy’s time & attention. Amy in IDW has shown not to be chasing Sonic like she used to in the games like Generations & before. SEGA & Sonic Team have changed the Sonamy dynamics from what it used to be.

4Kids Entertainment deleted this short moment of Amy being cute from Sonic X episode 24. Amy’s high level of cuteness was something 4Kids felt had to be deleted.

Why Sonic as king doesn’t work:

Sonic isn’t about marrying a princess. Sonic has no desire to become a ruler w/leadership responsibilities. It goes against his character to be tied down to a castle & one location. Sonic wants his adventures & freedom to travel anywhere anytime.
