"Sharing is fun, isn't it?"
From the words of a story, to an image of the scene as I imagined it when writing.
Trying to catch the glitz of the time, and Brandy as the out-of-place hayseed, working to beat grief and depression, and get something out of life.
I was going to do this with no colour or muted colour, but I knew her ‘80s cropped fringed jacket was purple, and I wondered why I was hiding this vital fashion information.
Meanwhile, here’s a later potential Brandy romance with somebody else who is also pretty and tough—but this time, the formative bad experiences that get stirred up make the potential romance go absolutely nowhere, and nothing happens.
Working on. Cheating and colouring before it is completely laid out—to get the feel of the colour into the composition.
Crystal is sad because her mother lied to her and Brandy.
“Why can’t she just give and take love with us? She doesn’t need to trick us to get it. It’s so painful.”
I like drawing the fashion and researching Crystal’s vintage Ludwig drum cases.
