This is scene that gets it all going. A demon kills Brandy and Crystal's lead guitarist before disappearing.
Brandy:
On a crowded city bus in Toronto, I sat and held my guitar case to my heart and said a silent prayer of thanks. I was amazed that I had even made it as far as convincing two musicians to play with me. I had already exceeded my own expectations.
Brandy opening the gate of the void. The Sand Keeper wants to know how she got there, and how she grew brave enough to become The Void Rider. She doesn't feel brave, but she can tell her life story. I will draw pictures for you of what she says.
“Have I doubt when I'm alone
Love is a ring, the telephone
Love is an angel disguised as lust
Here in our bed until the morning comes”
I am sad to learn of the death of Ursula K Le Guin. The book on Siobhan's nightstand is The Left Hand of Darkness.
"...lying together like lovers in kemmer.."
Brandy is the darkness, of course.
"And I don't know why you want to hurt me so
If you're tryin' to break my heart
You don't have very far to go"
Here's another I am working on. I will post the finished drawing when it's done. Some Romanticism refracted through the prisms of the postmodern ought to be volatile.
