This morning the Alita sequel petition had 174,530 signatures. Now, 13 hours later, it has 174,821 signatures - an increase of 291 signatures. A guess is that the news articles on Robert Rodriguez planning to talk to Disney about a sequel is boosting the Alita petition.

@Kadmos1 A good estimate is that Alita: Battle Angel has sold about 911,000 blurays in the U S, and about 2.9 million blurays worldwide, since July 2019. That should impress Disney. #AlitaSequel
The Numbers posted July 4 2021 bluray sales & said nothing about Alita. At July 4th it is estimated that Alita sold 800 blurays in the U S & had worldwide profits of $87 million. Right now the Alita 4K bluray is ranked #278 in sales on Amazon & is still in stock. #AlitaSequel
