I’m doing new drawing today while the children are at school and it’s quite... treacly and complicated trying to get anything finished and be confident about it. Process is like an esoteric obstacle course.
Here’s a hominid from a few months ago. For now.
My sister @hannah_cumming painted a watercolour of me with Mousie and sketchbooks, the most precious things.
Whereas my current drawing style resembles an explosion in a scribble factory, hers is calm and contained. We are distinct but connected.
Before I scribbled, before I drew fast, before I had any children, when there were three black cats, before I even got distracted by wrestling, I tried to make slow paintings in the countryside. This is the Beach Boys (three of them) in Thorncombe Woods.
A drawing no one liked when I posted it before, perhaps it’s a bit unnervingly between sensibilities therefore difficult on the eyes. Dog atop dog
