Sakaguchi also loved Science Fiction and we can admire his designs in anime like 100-man-nen Chikyuu no Tabi, Hi no Tori 2772: Ai no CosmoZone or Fumoon.

In 1983, he started serializing his longest and greatest masterpiece: “Stone Flower” featuring the story of the invasion of Yugoslavia by the German Nazi during WW2. It was such a successful story that it has been republished four times in Japan.
