Four artworks by Frédéric Bazille. Virtually unknown here, he was one of the original Impressionists. He was killed during the Franco-Prussian war in 1870 when he was just 28.
He had such a delicate appreciation and application of light. He touched the sunlight so beautifully.

February 1st is the Feast day of St. Brigid (Bridget) of Kildare. The Abbess who shares her name with the Celtic Goddess. Traditionally, it was the feast of Imbolc, the first day of spring. St.Bridgit's cross was the symbol of Ireland's national broadcaster RTÉ
