This is such a powerful image. It is called simply ‘Grief’ it’s by German artist Oskar Zwintscher dated 1898. Thanks to @archaeologyart
Today is the day! I’ll be talking about women of the past changing the future for #WomeninOxford @StAnnesCollege @UniofOxford today 7pm. It’s a free event but do consider donating to support the wonderful ‘Aim for Oxford’ programme. Link for tickets here https://t.co/p4P5LLPGTP
The start of this university term is unlike any I’ve ever known before. The workloads for everyone, administrators, tutors, support teams, is simply brutal. We’re battling negativity from all sides, grappling with technology & through it all trying to teach with energy-Solidarity
I’ve come up with a more accurate grading scale to the #TrackAndTrace system. Instead of Low, Medium, High, mine employs the prints of Edvard Munch. These progress from Moderately Sad through Discombobulated, Hysterical and finally onto Apocalyptic. You’re welcome...
Because things really suck at the moment I’m giving you gorgeous Impressionist paintings to improve your day. Gustave Caillebotte’s’Floor Scrapers’ (1875 and 76) are so beautiful and pose all sorts of questions of class, power, style and structure. Enjoy.... #arthistory
There’s only one winner of this #2020Challenge thing and it’s clearly Rembrandt!
@AshmoleanMuseum
Today I realised I could find joy & peace during this crazy time in escaping back to nature. The natural world needs our care & attention right now. And just look how beautiful it can be! I leave you with Caspar David Friedrich’s ‘Morning in the Mountains’ (1822-23). Much love 💓
I don’t court outrage.

I care about people’s feelings.
I care about History, Art and studying the past in an honest way.
I care about my followers.
If you want to follow me, please do. If you want a fight, please don’t follow me.
I feel for every one of us trapped this beautiful #bankholiday weekend. Our natural instinct is to enjoy the outdoors, explore favourite sites, capture every moment. But future generations will thank you more for making this sacrifice. PLEASE #StayHome & maybe #ArtHelps?
