1986 Marvel Comics promo poster for the hubristic, disastrous New Universe. (* ) Bill Sienkiewicz can make any prospect beguiling, as he did wonderfully here. If only the NU as a whole had been anything like as exciting as Mr Sienkiewicz’s art.
(* Other opinions are available.)
Marvel Comics Daredevil promo poster, by Joe Quesada, Jimmy Palmiotti & Tyson Wengler, using the cover art for 1998’s Daredevil #3.
What an amazingly good job Marvel Knights did in pointing Marvel forwards towards the 21st century.
@profmdwhite He did. There was a short mid-70s run, reprinted in 1989’s Art Of Walt Simonson. Perhaps there’s other examples too, but I can’t think of them ….
For no good reason at all, of course, I’ve suddenly been thinking about the first time Professor X called in the Human Torch to help him deal with a terrible mystical menace. Namely 1965’s X-Men #13.
Came across this Moon Knight/Black Knight scrap in 1987’s West Coast Avengers Annual #2. I’m not a fan of most of Marvel’s 80s output. But I’ve a fondness for the WCA. Yet for all I enjoyed the title, I’d never have believed MK would one day have a TV show & BK a part in a movie
The original cover artwork for 1979’s Black Hole colouring book. Which is gorgeous, far more fun than the film, and, sadly, uncredited as far as I tell.
Late 1981’s The Brave & The Bold #182, by Alan Brennert & Jim Aparo. Not just my favourite Batman comic, but my favourite comic full-stop. Pretty much everything I love about super-people comics can be found here. https://t.co/Zdln0IPR93
The Joker, by Kyle Baker, from 1988’s Who’s Who In The DC Universe Update.
My Sunday afternoon reading has arrived: the last of the Immortal Hulk volumes. Hurrah!
