Canadian Pacific Cruises, by William H. Barribal, c.1934.
My favourite Garth Ennis comic isn't exactly unknown. But it isn't nearly as well known as it should be. By Ennis and artist Gary Erskine, it's 2008's Dan Dare. https://t.co/AoFEyVRDGy
Ryan Sook's art for the poster advertising 2014's Vertigo Essentials reprints. I'm particularly taken by Swamp Thing & Ampersand enjoying the first issue of Y The Last Man :)
San Francisco World’s Fair, 1939, by Simon Vanderlaan.
I was baffled by the poster. In order for it to work, the image must have been SO iconic in its day. Now the 90 foot statue of Pacifica at the Fair is almost forgotten. But once it was clearly famous.
New York World's Fair 1964-1965, advance poster, by Bob Peak, 1962.
“Santa Claus Go Straight To The Ghetto”.
James Brown, on the Christmas cover that was December 26th 1968’s Jet.
A Giles Christmas Card for RNLI.
Perfect in detail, perfect as a whole. A complete & utter masterpiece.
