Lets also not forget that Sega themselves also introduced the Battle Kuku. Sega could bring then back and have them be recurring villains for Tails specifically.

Naugus is a prime example of a perfect villain for the games. He occupies a niche not taken by anyone else and he’d be able to bring in real magic into the series. I mean magic circles, incantation and shit. Legitimate sorcery. Plus like, look at him.
