Doom Patrol #60: Epic chase/battle with stellar cartooning throughout. The Candlemaker peels away characters one by one until it’s just he and Cliff, which is the most compelling scenario for us anyway. Though, I suspect the others will somehow return. #OnDoomPatrol
It’s always fun when two characters don’t like each other this blatantly. But to clear, Kipling most definitely is the one who sucks here.
Doom Patrol #59: This was a quick and ominous issue, with the threat that sort of punctuation marked the last issue bearing down on everyone...until re-enforcements arrive (Rebis!), and are instantly dismantled. A good read, but really sets the stage for next time. #OnDoomPatrol
Settling in now for the nightly Doom Patrol, but first more Levitz/Giffen Legion of Super-Heroes excellence. I mean, this artwork is just so good.
Really missed reading these Legion comics in the morning.
Art by Keith Giffen, inking by Larry Mahlstedt, and colors by Carl Gafford. Also of note — this run’s editor was Karen Berger!
Flowers or Football Scores is my favorite late 2000s indie rock band.
