Doom Patrol #41: And here we get an end to the dueling space weirdos arc. The tone at the end was funny enough, almost like the characters themselves were dealing with the simplicity of fighting just to fight, which is delightfully meta fictional. #OnDoomPatrol

Doom Patrol #40: One thing I like about this arc is a lot of times odd or absurd ideas are portrayed as vaguely pleasant, but this (like the best of David Lynch’s work) suggests that abject terror is equally as capable of being channeled through the nonsensical. #OnDoomPatrol

Doom Patrol #35: We get the intro of Danny the Street...and STILL MORE impecably-designed absurdist villains. There was a lot to explain in this arc intro, and the script did a great job doling it out with Case’s stunning artwork. See image 3 and 4 here, especially. #OnDoomPatrol

I’ve posted it before and I’ll post it again...mood.

And once again this was another issue where I actually wanted to pull-out and spotlight 8 pieces of artwork, rather than just four. And thus these panels too. Particularly love the effect of the bottom of the page crumbling. Just stellar.

Did anyone else read Cry Havoc a few years back? I continue to think this was an underrated little gem from Si Spurrier and Ryan Kelly.

Doom Patrol #19: Really liked the tone of this first issue. The whole conceit of the run (as laid out by Tom Peyer in the foreword) is these people don’t want to be super powered and it certainly isn’t all fun to be them. Which, relatable. At least the second part. #OnDoomPatrol
