@teezans recently tore through Ion Fury and it was fascinating to compare to similarly "retro-styled" Doom Eternal. though I loved DE, the low-fi IM simply can Do Things with size/complexity of levels, number of enemies, and interactive detail that's impossible to do at AAA graphics scale
