Perfectly retro in all the right ways, especially from both a visual and musical standpoint. I quite loved the delivery of this type of underdog story. It’s also nice to have a tie to a classic anime with clear, direct influences yet still feels fresh & unique.

I find it ironic that anime fans in general typically complain about the “ugly” character designs in One Piece.

Yet, Oda managed to create one of the hottest (pun absolutely intended) fictional characters in existence with Ace.
