The only reason she cried for Sasuke was because he was going to get KILLED - She would cry for anyone she knows in that situation.

Shikamaru saying Ino would want revenge if Sasuke is killed is his own assumption based on the fact that she was crying for Sasuke at the moment of speaking. It doesn't mean she actually will. Again, Ino is emotional & it's NOT wrong to cry at the news of someone she knew dying.

I like how in pain arc, everyone was mainly working in their fields. Sakura in Medical department healing the wounded, Shikamaru helping the Cryptanalysis Team to decipher the code, Ino in the Intel department helping to find Pain's location, Chōji in frontlines to fight, etc.

🐗 Ino possessed the pseudo Jinchuriki Kinkaku & forced him to get himself sealed! Kinkaku was a descendant of Sage of Six Paths who left the 2nd Hokage on the brink of death & left everyone trembling in fear. When reanimated in war he nearly demolished the entire first division.

Ino helped Shikamaru and Chōji to defeat multiple mini ten-tail clones in their InoShikaCho formation.
