Last Night in Soho (2021 - Edgar Wright). I don’t often Jibba Jabba about the Saturday Movie Night with , but this… this… FUUUUUCK! Let’s just say that I was absolutely blown away. This feels like Edgar Wright’s graduation from Student/Cult to top tier.

Hana-bi (1997 - Takeshi Kitano) - aka Fireworks. A masterpiece of stillness broken by moments of violence, like the titular fireworks. Each frame a piece of art and a Joe Hisaishi score that feels at odds with what’s on screen, but so very perfect at the same time.

Queen Crab (aka Claws - 2015) - Dir. Brett Piper. Meteor devastation of a lake awakens this gargantuan crustacean. Is there anything that can stop it? Will the locals be scuttled off to their demise or will they all be left eating crab sticks? It’s time to find out.

Black Angel (1997) - aka Kuro no Tenshi Vol.1. Dir Takashi Ishii. Murder, betrayal and bloody revenge are all front and centre in this stylish neo-noir. This was one of those corner stone films when many of us were starting to dig a little deeper into Japanese films.

Tragedy Girls (2017) - Dir. Tyler MacIntyre. Stars Alexandra Shipp, Brianna Hildebrand & Josh Hutcherson. A couple of Internet True Crime Sleuths look to boost their ratings by turning to murder themselves. I’ve been looking forward to this one for the longest time.

Robotrix (1991) - Directed by Jaime Luk, starring Chikako Aoyama and Amy Yip. Wife decided to go to bed early, so there is only one thing for it, time to crack out this slice of Cat III Sci-Fi madness in beautiful HD, courtesy of . What a time to be alive.

Hard Boiled (1992) - Dir by John Woo, Stars Chow Yun Fat. You all know this one. A classic that has never been bettered. In need of something so familiar that I can just switch off and enjoy. Not only does Hard Boiled fit this perfectly, it’s fucking spectacular.

Sint (2010) - aka Saint. Directed by the legendary Dick Mass (Amsterdamned, The Lift) this twisted tale set on Sinterklaasavond (St Nicholas Eve - Dec 5th), the children of Amsterdam are not safe, because St Nick is in town. A little early but a long overdue rewatch.

RoboCop (1987) - Full of the kid’s cold, so a duvet day with comfort films it is. What better way to start than with the film I’ve seen more times than any other. Back when having ADHD meant you were a thicko, 13yo me obsessed over this film. The truest of classics.
